Gerringong Gerroa Sewerage Scheme

Veolia Water designed and built this sewerage network, sewage treatment plant and effluent refuse system on behalf of client Sydney Water, for the regional townships of Gerringong and Gerroa. The plant treats sewage using tertiary filtration, ozone, biologically activated carbon, micro-filtration and ultra-violet disinfection.

The scheme is designed to reuse 80 per cent or more of the treated effluent in local dairy farm irrigation.

Veolia Water has operated this scheme and the plant since 2002 under a long term contract.
