Bendigo, Castlemaine and Kyneton Water Treatment Plants - Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay for the Bendigo Health Foundation
In 2011, the Veolia Water operations team from the Bendigo, Castlemaine and Kyneton Water Treatment Plants supported the Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay, an annual fundraising event to raise funds to support the Bendigo Health Foundation's project to upgrade the paediatric unit at the Bendigo Hospital.
Eleven staff from the three plants participated in the race and raised more than $7500 for the cause, with donations from the company and employees.
Veolia Water constructed and now operates and maintains three water treatment plants in Bendigo, Castlemaine and Kyneton. These plants treat and supply high quality potable water to 130,000 people in Victoria's Bendigo region.
Ballarat North Wastewater Treatment Plant- Ballarat Environment Network Winter Swamp Community Education Program
Veolia Water is supporting the Ballarat Environment Network to run a community education program which offers members of the Ballarat community the chance to explore and learn about the varied ecology of the Winter Swamp, an aquatic, grassland and woodland reserve in Ballarat.
The program includes planting new vegetation and regular clean-ups of the reserve, as well as hosting a number of visitors at the Ballarat North Wastewater Plant throughout the year. Employees are encouraged to participate in all aspects of the program and are even involved in the development, management and monitoring of the program through representation on the program's advisory and planning reference group.
Veolia Water operates and maintains the Ballarat North Wastewater Treatment Plant.
