Sydney's Desalination Plant - Sutherland to Surf
The Sutherland to Surf fun run is an annual 11 km fundraising initiative for the Wanda Surf Life Saving Club, located at Cronulla beach. More than 7,000 participants compete in the race and funds raised go towards vital rescue and resuscitation equipment for the club. Veolia Water operates and maintains Sydney's Desalination Plant in Kurnell, located 10km away from Cronulla beach in the southern suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales.
Bayswater Power Station - Muswellbrook's Learn to Swim Program and the Singleton Motorcycle Club
Veolia Water supports the instructors of the program to receive their annual training so that they are fully qualified to teach members of the Muswellbrook community how to swim and be confident in the water. The company also provides complimentary swimming caps for all students.
The company also provided a donation to support the Singleton Motorcycle Club purchase a new 10,000 litre rainwater tank to supply water to their canteen, toilet blocks and the motorcycle track.
Veolia Water operates the water treatment plant associated with the Bayswater Power Station, which is located close to Muswellbrook and Singleton in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales.
Woronora Water Treatment Plant - Hacking River Stream Watch Group
Veolia Water supports this group by providing the resources for water quality testing at the Hacking River on the NSW south coast. The Woronora Water Treatment Plant, operated and maintained by Veolia Water, was commissioned in 1996 and along with the Illawarra Water Treatment Plant provides water to approximately 500,000 people in the Illawarra region of NSW.
Illawarra Water Treatment Plant - Illawarra Surf Life Saving Club
In support of the Illawarra Surf Life Saving Club, Veolia Water provides funds to help support 2,500 lifesavers across 17 clubs and to educate 4,000 young people in the Illawarra region learn more about surf education. The Illawarra Water Treatment Plant is operated and maintained by Veolia Water, which together with the Woronora Water Treatment Plant provides water to approximately 500,000 people in the Illawarra region of NSW.
Gerringong Gerroa Sewerage Scheme - Gerringong Surf Life Saving Club
As sponsors of the Gerringong Surf Life Saving Club, Veolia Water is providing funds for parts and maintenance of its inflatable rescue boats.
Since 2002, Veolia Water has operated and maintained the Gerringong-Gerroa Sewerage Scheme which provides sewerage treatment to 8,000 people in the Gerringong-Gerroa region and also reuses 80 per cent of the treated water produced at a local dairy farm.
