Partnering with the NSW Department of Health and Moree Shire Council
Veolia Water employees from New South Wales and Queensland are currently undertaking pro bono consulting with the NSW Department of Health and Moree Shire Council to help two small, remote indigenous communities in Toomelah and Boggabilla (in far northern NSW), improve the taste of its drinking water.
This has involved staff visiting the community, investigating current water treatment, testing the drinking water and looking for cost effective ways to improve the taste.
A key element of this project is finding ways to change the drinking water treatment which can be easily maintained and will be socially acceptable to the local community. The outcome will be much more palatable drinking water for everyone in this community to enjoy.
