In Franklin, which is located approximately 50 km south east of Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand, United Water (a Veolia Water subsidiary) operates and maintains the district's water and wastewater treatment plants as well as associated network systems.
The contract includes operating and maintaining 13 water treatment plants (9.6 million litres per day), five wastewater treatment plants (8.5 million litres per day), 43 pump stations, seven storage reservoirs, 315 km of water networks, 41 wastewater pump stations and 12,800 water meter readings.
The contract serves a population of 61,000.
