The Ballarat North Water Reclamation Plant, which serves 30,000 people, is capable of treating 8.4 million litres per day of wastewater for agricultural and industrial use in the Ballarat region.
It also includes a thermal sludge dryer which produces biosolids to a standard suitable for land based reuse. The plant is operated by United Water, a Veolia Water subsidiary, under a long term contract on behalf of Central Highlands Water.
