Water is crucial to all sectors of industry.
Used as drinking water, boiler water, process water, cooling water, wash water, as protection against fire and to treat effluent, this resource alone can account for 15 per cent of operational costs.
Veolia Water services more than 40,000 industrial customers across 60 countries worldwide.
It specialises in managing water and wastewater assets to provide improved water management solutions enabling clients to concentrate on their core business activities.
These solutions - which include outsourcing, design and build, equipment supply, after-sales services and speciality chemicals - cater to a range of industries such as power, mining, food and beverage, chemicals, petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.
Veolia Water's approach to industrial partnerships is to work alongside clients to offer the best technical and financial solutions which protect the environment and also anticipate changes in environmental regulations and obligations.
For industrial client Macquarie Generation which runs the Bayswater Power Station in New South Wales, an upgrade of the station's four ageing water treatment plants involved designing and building a new Bayswater Power Station Water Treatment Plant and introducing a high level of treatment (including reverse osmosis) to maximise reuse of the water and minimise impact on the local environment and waterways.
The upgrade was designed and built by Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies with Veolia Water currently operating and maintaining the plant.
