Learning

In 2005, 99% of Veolia Water staff were involved in training.

We encourage individuals to enhance their skills and knowledge through learning via internal and external sources. We use Competency Assessment to identify training needs and relate these to actual competencies required on the job. We also emphasise the importance of all staff developing to meet both their short term and longer term career goals.

Our Leadership Programme helps future leaders develop practical skills and knowledge to manage people and contribute to the development of the business. This six month modular programme covers:

  • self awareness
  • working in a team
  • communicating effectively
  • handling conflict, and
  • strategic direction and planning.

Graduate recruitment is facilitated via the University of NSW Co-op Programme. As a current sponsor of this scheme we play an active part in the attraction of newcomers to the industry.
