In 2008, 99 per cent of Veolia Environnement employees in Australia and New Zealand were involved in training.

Veolia Water encourages individuals to enhance their skills and knowledge through learning via internal and external sources. The company uses competency assessment to identify training needs and relates these to the actual competencies required on the job. Veolia Water encourages and supports employees to develop their own short term and long term career goals with the right training to help them achieve this.

In 2008, Veolia Water produced a company-wide training plan to track employees' training and development and ensure additional training and development needs were being addressed.
