Each year, Veolia Environnement operates a global campaign for school age children centred around environmental protection and sustainability.
In 2008, Veolia Environnement is organising its 5th international campaign to raise awareness on sustainable development, aimed at students between 8 - 12 years.
The 2007 campaign, Tales Around The World, gathered 64,000 children from 26 countries.
In the 2008 campaign, Veolia Cities Around The World, children from 30 countries will give their city the opportunity to tell its tale. Children will have to find out more about their city, discover its desires and dreams and express what people could do so that it keeps living in harmony with the earth.
As part of the competition, children are asked to submit two drawings and a supporting story about their city and what needs to be done to protect it for future generations. The winning class will then be awarded an all expenses paid trip to Paris for two students and the class teacher.
